Ski Inn in Niland

Really friendly people, nice music and good simple food served until 8pm. The atmosphere is very warm and I ended up chatting to some interesting characters who I'll never forget. It's a place I would go every weekend if I wasn't so far away.

First timer. Good joint. Good burgers and cold beer!! Great atmosphere, good people from around the way and cool locals

I work in a high-class toilet and I know one when I see one. This is a fabulous high class toilet! It's a good stop on a lonely road.

Best food and service all most anywhere, unbelievable! The chef they have is amazing. All is good, onion rings are truly amazing. I have been all over the world and I am truly amazed!

This is a place you'd probably never go to if it wasn't recommended to you, so I am recommending the Ski Inn! Good food. Good drinks. A great owner. Fun place, but make sure you tour the town. It is becoming one if the junk art capitals of the region. Good roads and very safe and friendly area.

OK if you're going to the Salton Sea, this is must for a beer or two. There a mementos and tags on cash bills all over the place. These have been left as a reminder of how much this place has touched people's lives. The Inn sits on the shore of 360 Square mile sea. It's longest side is 33 miles long. The ski Inn is library of pictures of when the sea was popular. The beer is cold and fresh, parking is free and easy to find. 👍👏 Grab a bill, put your name down and tape it to open spot. They only accept cash but there is an atm in the restaurant.

Interesting place once visited by Anthony Bourdain. Patio is must see. Inside shows it's age, but that is a strong part of it's history and character. Very informative and friendly staff.

Friendly staff, good place for a quick beer

At first I was a little intimidated by this place but we went in anyways. The food was awesome and so was the service. We ate at the bar and had a few drinks. It has a wonderful atmosphere. There are several thousand one dollar bills taped on the ceiling and walls. There is a handicapped bathroom that everyone must see the inside of. There is also an outdoor dining area.

Great bar at a "Bucket List" destination. Esmeralda kept us entertained & well hydrated with very reasonably priced beer. The lovely owner (didn't get her name) cooked up great cheeseburgers (also the least expensive ones that we experienced on our American Journey) & the locals were non-hostile. Well worth a slight detour before motorcycling through the Box Canyon & Joshua Tree. Thanks for everything.

I really enjoyed their dishes. I always get good service there. The place is well organised and the staff members are always super friendly.

Cool spot to stop in and have a beer if you are in the area. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m generally pretty skeptical of burgers when eating out. The vibe was chill, definitely a local spot, in an area that has hardly anything else to offer. Wood paneling, locals and booze what more could you want?

Cute little dive bar! Very clean, good service. Loved the outdoor patio! They have food, but we didn't eat, so I can't comment on the quality. A nice place to stop for adult beverages when you're done exploring all the art and sculpture in Bombay Beach.

By far the coolest bar in a 50 miles radius. Bartender and staff were super friendly. Great prices on beer. Ask bartender for tape and markers to put your dollar bill up.

We went here for lunch after visiting the area. The place was busy but had a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the relaxed atmosphere was not conducive to efficient service. We waited for over an hour for 3 burgers and 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. I had to ask for our drinks and then we we were offered the wrong ones. The waitress didn't seem to know what she was doing or who's order was who's. The food (when it finally arrived) was good.This obviously wasn't a one off incident. The restaurant is covered in dollar bills which have been decorated by clients and then stuck to the wall, as you can see from the attached picture we weren't the only customers to be dissatisfied.

A great stop if you're driving around the Salton Sea. Burgers, sandwiches, patty melts, cold inexpensive beer. Lovely outdoor seating area as well. I saw a photo of Anthony Bourdain seated here at the end of the bar enjoying a cold one. It's THAT cool.

Cool little dive bar and restaurant that has been open since the 60's. Excellent food.

The Ski Inn saved my life in February 2018...well, not really but I'm thankful they were open because I got my vehicle stuck on the beach and had to wait for a tow. The owner and I had a good conversation about other people getting stuck out there, we traded stories and he told me how Bombay Beach was back in its heyday. I stuck a buck on the bar, snapped some pictures and wished him happy birthday. If you're ever in the area, so in and let him share some history with you.

This place is great! Full of history and character! The food was so tasty and the price was amazing! 🙂

Loved everything about this place!!! Had an amazing time the staff was so so friendly!! But it is very true they only take cash and don’t have an atm so bring cash!! And an extra dollar so you can put it up in there!

This town is such a hidden gem. From art made out of anything to everything, a big back story and great towns people. I had a cheese burger for lunch and it was the best cheese burger I've ever had! Thank you to all the locals! This is a town Ill go back to. I hope that thus can send more people their way, but please, be respectful of their home❤

Okay, the truth is we did not eat or drink anything here. We wanted to use the bathroom. But while here, I did have a look around while waiting for the ladies. The place seemed clean and neat, with a cozy bar that seemed to be inhabited by locals. If I had been looking for something to eat or drink, I would not have hesitated to give this place a shot. Their interior decoration is an interesting design.

A must-visit bar if on the east side of Salton Sea. Lots of character. Pleasant girl behind the bar. A few locals having a beer - friendly and I felt welcome.

It has a very home town feeling..service is great..so is selection of food..

We’re all really lucky that The Only Place also happens to be The Best Place Ever. Part of me wants to subtract a star because they have an ATM now, but I couldn’t do that to them, and I suppose the majority of you probably see it as “a good thing”. I’ll agree when they make the thing only dispense singles.

Located at the entrance of Bombay Beach the Ski Inn is one of the few thriving signs of life here. It has a limited menu of usual the burgers fries with a good selection of beer and drinks. The decor is pretty incredible and certainly unique to the area. If you come to dine during the weekend expect a very long wait as the kitchen staff is quite small.

My all time fav dive bar. Cash only, classic jukebox, wraparound bar (sit here to chat it up with locals), pool table, excellent burgers, right amount of grime, awesome back patio, cheap drinks. Spent some time in the area and by the second visit I felt like a regular. Sonya and Ernie are so nice, real good people. Esmeralda was our server, very efficient. Patty Melt and Ortega burger are delish, popular items. Piano to fool around on. One night some local musicians had a jam sesh on back patio and it was lotsa fun. Another night some epic Deep House DJs came by and spun into the wee hours of morn. Next month they’re hosting the 12th Annual Testicle Festival 🤔Ask Sonya to make one of her famous margaritas, you won’t be disappointed. And dont forget to ask for the art basket so you create your own dolla-dolla bill for the wall! Will be back here again, made lots of friends.

Good food, great atmosphere, you need to see it to believe it!

I have yet to eat my food so I cannot comment on that, but i am very disappointed in the service here. My family has been here for 2 hours and only 3 out of the 8 people have gotten their food. We all ordered cheeseburgers, which should take no more than 30 minutes to gril . I have never experienced anything like this befor . We wanted to check out the area but at this point we're losing daylight. Sorry for the long rant but you should all know if you have a big group, DO NOT COME HERE! Update. We are currently eating leftover food from the camping trip in the parking lot. We went in to get an update on our burgers and saw them serving burgers to people at the bar that had just gotten there!!

It's a place of its own. An experience... Real old tavern feel and the staff will chat with you and are good down to earth people. Beer is cold and we always enjoy visiting here!
